Voices of Dentistry

There are two things that matter to Dr. Alan Mead: dentistry and sharing his passion of dentistry with others. When not busy at his Michigan-based dental practice, which he opened in 1998, Dr. Mead shares his extensive knowledge, sense of humor and dentistry connections alongside Dr. Jason Lipscomb on their podcast, the DentalHacks.

Launched in 2014, this podcast was built upon a shared vision—a means for sharing dental knowledge in both an independent and fun way. What started as two dentists with an idea has become a highly regarded podcast boasting more than 1.5m downloads (and counting). In fact, DentalHacks was the domino that started a chain reaction of podcasts within the dental industry, allowing dentists to more closely share, connect and work together through important issues and topics.

Drs. Mead and Lipscomb teamed up with Drs. Mark Costes and Shawn Van De Vyver to form the Voice of Dentistry Podcast Summit in 2016. This yearly event provides a meeting point for the best in dental podcasting and offers a weekend of networking, connecting, earning Continuing Education credits, and sharing ideas. After the first event, all four dentists realized this was the start of something special. And they were right: the summit continues to grow in attendance, sponsorship and influence each year.
