Dr. Alan Mead is a general dentist who has owned and run Mead Family Dental in Saginaw, Michigan since 1998, after graduating from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1997. In 2014 he co-founded the Dental Hacks podcast, which he rebranded in 2021 as the Very Dental Podcast Network, now past 4.3 million downloads and still publishing new episodes in 2026. He is also a co-founder of the Voices of Dentistry podcast summit, which held its 2026 meeting in Arizona, and co-hosts The Peaceful Practice podcast with Dr. Dawn Kulongowski. His speaking and writing frequently cover dental podcasting, dental microscopes, and addiction and recovery.
